To My Constituents & Supporters,
After long consideration with my family, supporters, and mentors I have just filed for re-election to Charlotte City Council At-Large. We have worked for five years and built a great framework for a more equitable, accessible, and interconnected Charlotte. We need your support to keep adding to it. The City Council must be laser-focused on the work of the people. We reap immense benefits when we work together. Let’s do the hard work!
Our city continues to ask the question: how do we build safe neighborhoods? The City Council can help do that by ensuring that our community values are present in our policies and our spending decisions. We have taken impactful steps to address issues that plague our communities like violent crime, pedestrian deaths, and generational poverty through policies like SAFE Charlotte, Vision Zero, our affordable housing frameworks, and our Comprehensive 2040 plan. These efforts are being implemented now and will continue over generations. We need to continue to develop these initiatives while building and implementing an equity framework to repair the harmful policies and practices that Charlotte City Council has implemented in the past.
We on the City Council must continue to build strong coalitions to do this work effectively. Building relationships with communities, neighbors, and partners in the region has to be the everyday job of our representative government. With your support, we will push the next City Council to be the leaders and conveners who will bring to fruition big ideas like a modern transportation system and making Charlotte the innovative jobs center it must become.
In the coming days and weeks, our campaign will present much more information on how we will achieve our goals and how you can help build the equitable city that we all deserve. Thank you for your past support. I am energized to continue to work with you for a more equitable, accessible, and interconnected Charlotte.
